ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad hosted a distinguished presentation of the book “Jewel of the Mind,” authored by Turkmenistan’s National Leader, His Excellency Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. The event was led by Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov, who provided participants with a detailed insight into the book’s themes, philosophical underpinnings, and the motivations behind its creation. 
Published in November last year, Jewel of the Mind is composed of an introduction and two chapters. The first chapter, Travel to History, chronicles Turkmenistan’s origins and historical development across the centuries. The second chapter, Spiritual Heritage, delves into the cultural and spiritual legacy of the Turkmen people, highlighting their profound contributions to world civilization.
During the presentation, Ambassador Movlamov emphasized that the book reflects Turkmenistan’s longstanding principles of peace and preventive diplomacy. He noted that it is enriched with scientific data on the ancient political and trade relations of Turkmen civilizations such as Altyn-Depe, Margush, the Seljuk Empire, and the Khorezmshah dynasty. The Ambassador added that Jewel of the Mind offers foreign readers a valuable window into Turkmenistan’s rich history, ethical values, scientific achievements, educational advancements, and cultural evolution.
In his commentary on the book, His Excellency Berdimuhamedow paid special tribute to Magtymguly Pyragy, the great Turkmen poet and philosopher, emphasizing his enduring influence on Turkmen human values and national identity. The significance of Pyragy’s legacy is further highlighted by the International Organization of Turkic Culture’s declaration of 2024 as the Year of Magtymguly Pyragy.
The participants also explored Turkmenistan’s ancient Anau culture, the Bronze Age civilizations, the flourishing period of the Seljuk Empire, and the historic Khorezmshah dynasty, all vividly depicted in the book. These elements showcase the profound historical roots and the cultural richness of the Turkic peoples.
This special presentation comes at a time of symbolic importance: following Turkmenistan’s initiative, the United Nations has declared 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the international recognition of Turkmenistan’s policy of Permanent Neutrality.
