WNAM Monitoring:  President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a presentation on developing trade and service infrastructure and constructing cultural and tourism facilities.
Relevant instructions were given at a meeting held on December 18 last year. In particular, it was noted that it is necessary to effectively utilize the great tourism potential of the country, to increase the number of tourist sites and accommodation places for guests.

Projects developed in accordance with these objectives were presented.

The picturesque mountain landscapes of Shakhrisabz district of Kashkadarya region and Parkent district of Tashkent region attract the attention of numerous tourists, especially in spring/summer. To expand conditions for tourists, it is planned to build modern recreation centers in the villages of Miraki in Shakhrisabz, Nurobod and Kumushkon in Parkent district.

It is also planned to organize hostels from light structures on Maydanak plateau in Kashkadarya region, convert existing buildings for trade and services, and improve the territory.

Markets are one of the centers of attraction for tourists. But today, some of the country’s markets are unattractive to tourists. They lack national culture and traditions.

In this regard, the Head of state instructed to develop a project of market complexes that reflect the national culture. At today’s presentation, preliminary projects were reviewed to transform the markets of historical cities into complexes attractive to tourists.

“Markets should be turned into a country’s landmark, preserving their unique features. Food, clothing, jewelry stores, gastronomic, and entertainment establishments should harmoniously complement each other and attract buyers and tourists”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The importance of studying the relevant experience of Türkiye and Arab countries and attracting foreign specialists to the design was noted.

Information was also provided about the markets planned to be built in tourist centers like Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. The Head of state instructed on reflecting the regions’ traditions in projects and creating broad conditions for tourists.

At a meeting of the Republican Council on Spirituality and Enlightenment, the President raised the issue of improving the activities of the Tashkent State Circus. Plans to renovate the building of this cultural institution and construct an educational building with 300 seats to integrate training and practice in the process of training circus arts personnel were discussed.

The Head of state gave instructions on project finalization and high-quality implementation.
