As long as there was a thaw in the relationship between Moscow and Beijing after the second world war Washington took full benefit of it and ultimately succeeded in dismembering the mighty Soviet empire. After the demise of Lenin Moscow didn’t have for a long time leader of his stature, political acumen and farsightedness.
On the contrary Beijing was blessed with leaders like Mao TSE Tung Chou en Lai and Deng who transformed China into every field of life so much so that it was able to hold candle to Washington in science and technology and economy, to boot. It is also a fact that by cuddling up to Beijing, Russian leader Putin today considers himself more secure in the citadel of power in the Kremlin than the time when Russia had been going out on a limb in the world politics. Today the Sino- Soviet unity is a big stumbling block in the way of American conspiracy against the communist bloc which has been progressing leaps and bounds due to close affinity between Moscow and Beijing.
Small wonder Washington has been lately propping up countries like India and Australia as a counterweight and bulwark against Beijing and Moscow.
