All those weapons which are billed as of prohibitive bore like Kalashnikov are deadly weapons with which many persons get killed by their single burst of fire. They should be allowed in the possession of only armed forces, police and para military force. In this country every Tom, Dick and Harry if he is politically influential posses this weapon. Workers of political parties are equipped with this deadly weapon and persons belonging to elite class move in public with their bodyguards carrying this weapon. It is about time the federal government ensured that no special permit of Kalashnikov was issued to any person by the Interior Ministry as was done in the past for carrying this weapon on his person and the district magistrates were directed not to issue any license of prohibitive bore weapon like Kalashnikov to any person.  Persons desirous of keeping arms weapon for their self protection can be issued arms license for non prohibitive bore weapon and  that an amendment in the Arms Act be made to the effect that death penalty can also be awarded to those who were found in possession of prohibitive bore weapon like the Kalashnikov.  Without coming with a heavy hand on the persons in possession of such deadly weapons like Kalashnikov culture cannot be eliminated from our society and law and order situation of the country cannot be improved.

POST SCRIPT
Time was when institutions like the Public Service Commissions in the country enjoyed excellent reputation and rarely did even any tiny finger was ever raised on their credibility in the selection of civil and judicial services officers. It was, therefore, shocking to note that on a writ petition that irregularities have been committed in the selection of judicial magistrates and civil judges in the KPK,  the Peshawar High court the other day had to call an explanation of both the KPK government and the KPK Public Service Commission.
Hitherto the selection of officers in the administrative and judicial cadres of the country has always been above board. What a pity that black sheep should have made inroads into departments like the public service commission also.
