ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Chairman Standing Committee, Mobiles Association ICCI, Nafees ur Rehman, has said that retailers are being harassed in the name of regularization. He stated that retailers do not accept the Point of Sale (POS) system and that a full-scale protest will be held outside the FBR office on December 30.
He said that retailers already pay 40 percent tax on mobile phones, which are showcased in the shop windows. However, now they are being told that it is not about taxes but about “regularization.” He questioned whether POS systems have also been installed, in the name of regularization, at e-commerce platforms and banks that sell mobile phones.
Nafees ur Rehman added that traders across the country are facing severe difficulties, while FBR officials are engaged in harassing traders. He alleged that traders are being blackmailed by saying that a law is being made. He questioned whether this law has been made only to harass shopkeepers. He categorically rejected the FBR law, demanding that it be withdrawn and that the POS requirement be abolished at least for retailers.
