Eighty percent of world’s nuclear weaponry is in possession of America and Russia. An agreement to control its proliferation which had been signed half a century ago expired recently meaning thereby that it is now free for all to make nuclear weapons. The UN Secretary General wasn’t far wrong when he underscored the need for signing a new similar agreement for imposing control on its proliferation.
Tension between Iran and the US shows no sign of let up As long as it remains there will always remain danger of war between these two countries.
Chinese investment in Pakistan is a sore in the US eyes. Thousand of Chinese live in Pakistan, most of them working in various developmental projects bankrolled by Beijing. Given the track record of America’s past the possibility of CIA masterminding attacks on them cannot be ruled out altogether in order to scare them away and lower the prestige of Pakistan in the eyes of China thus forcing Beijing to roll up CPEC in Pakistan. It is, therefore, of paramount importance that fool proof security arrangements be made for the protection of all Chinese living in Pakistan whether they work in CPEC or doing any other job.

Lately a number of bilateral trade agreements have been signed by Pakistan with many central Asian countries. It is certainly a welcome development which is going to benefit the common man in these countries. The laying of railway track between these countries will link up Pakistan with central asia and fulfill a long dream of a rail link among them which will bring the people of these countries much closer.
