What a pity that, on the one hand, our rulers have been running from pillar to post with a begging bowl in their hands to borrow money for protecting the country from default but on the other a fat purse is being spent on buying luxurious vehicles and aircraft for use by its parliamentarians and senior mandarins. It seems that the famous idiom that one should cut one’s coat according to the cloth was lost on the powers that be who sanctioned  billion of rupees for buying cars and air craft of prohibitive cost.

POSTSCRIPT
Trump continues to change his stance on war with Iran. One day he extends olive branch to its leadership but on the second day he threatens them with use of more force against them. He has annoyed America’s erstwhile partner counties in the NATO by telling them that Washington doesn’t need them now.

-The Taliban leadership in Kabul has been instrumental in pushing its country into political wilderness. Germany which used to have a soft corner for Afghanistan is now also gradually breaking diplomatic relationship with Afghanistan and gradually distancing itself from Kabul.

-Pakistan’ s effort to mediate between Iran and America has been widely praised by many countries including China which speaks volumes for the diplomatic skill of our Foreign office.
