If the Reform Party sweeps the next general elections as it has done in the recent local government elections the migrants in England are going to be in trouble because like the Yankees the Brits are also going to legislate much tougher immigration rules making. It virtually impossible for the migrants to enter Britain and then try to settle themselves permanently there on various pretexts . The persons from other countries desirous of getting political asylum in Britain would also be subjected to thorough scrutiny before granting them stay in Britain. There are Brits who favour promulgation of tougher rules as in their view the migrants have not been adjusting themselves with the local traditions and have been abusing the local laws. Some people are of the view that if entry into UK was made tougher it would tarnish the political image of UK in the world which gyrate round exercise of human rights.
POST Script: There is hell of difference of work culture between Pakistan and England. The working hours in England start at 6 in the morning with the first sunlight and close with the sunset. In this way a lot of electricity is saved by the Brits . Why can’t we do the same. What a pity our working hours in most of the business circles don’t start before mid day and finish well past midnight.
