What a pity that like the Bourbons our politicians have learnt and forgotten nothing, otherwise, the MPAs of Panjab assembly would hot have used fisticuffs against one another last Thursday making themselves a laughing stock of the people and turning the assembly into a fish market.
Their attitude reflected sadly on the leadership of their parties which has failed to imbibe in them rules of assembly business and the behaviour which needs to be adopted in the proceedings on the floor of the House
When FM Ayub Khan was imposing martial law in the country back in 1958 the one reason which he had cited for wrapping up democracy in the country was that parliamentary democracy doesn’t suit the genius of our people.
If our assembly members would continue to turn the assemblies into fish market they would only be proving Ayub Khan correct once again.
