Astana: Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabi have signed a bilateral agreement exempting holders of diplomatic and service/special passports from visa requirements.
The agreement was signed by Kazakh deputy foreign minister Alibek Bakayev and Saudi deputy foreign minister Abdul Majid bin Rashed Assamary within the Kazakhstani-Saudi interparliamentary commission.
The agreement exempts the owners of diplomatic and service passports from visa requirements when entering for a period not exceeding 90 days in every six months.
Bakayev stressed that the agreement aims at creating favorable conditions for citizens of Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, intensifying trade and economic relations.
The ministry pointed out that diplomatic and service passports holders arriving in Saudi Arabia for the hajj are not subject to such an exemption.
Kazakhstan has bilateral agreements relating to diplomatic passports with 80 countries and relating to service passports with 60 countries.
