WNAM MONITORING: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a message to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, emphasizing the key role of Turkmenistan’s peacekeeping initiatives, as reported by official media of Turkmenistan on Monday.
According to the Kazakh leader, in the face of growing global challenges, Turkmenistan’s peacekeeping initiatives take on exceptional significance and remind the entire world community that only through strengthening peace, trust, and solidarity can a future based on the well-being and prosperity of all peoples be built.
In particular, the President of Kazakhstan noted the importance of initiatives implemented during the International Year of Peace and Trust, declared by the UN General Assembly at the proposal of Ashgabat. Tokayev described this decision, timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutral status, as an important event demonstrating the effectiveness of the country’s foreign policy.
In his address, Tokayev highlighted the positive development of Kazakh-Turkmen relations, based on the principles of good neighborliness and strategic partnership. He praised Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s efforts in promoting sustainable and secure development in the region, as well as in implementing constructive initiatives on the international stage.
“I would like to particularly note your leadership and visionary ideas for enhancing Turkmenistan’s international authority and strengthening Ashgabat’s high status as a center of diplomacy, peace, and stability. Thanks to your efforts, the country serves as an example of responsible partnership, fostering trust and cooperation both in the region and beyond,” said Tokayev.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev confirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to further deepen cooperation with Turkmenistan, including joint projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and ecology. The President of Kazakhstan expressed confidence that the joint efforts of the two countries would contribute to the prosperity of the peoples of Central Asia.
