Our tragedy is that though there is no dearth of good professionals like Lawyers, Scientists, Engineers and Medics in this country. We are terribly short of good persons. Compassion , empathy, integrity and kindness are the words unknown to us. Unless we imbibe these ethical values our state institutions will never be able to deliver goods to the man in the street who will continue to be exploited by the big and the mighty in cahoots with the personnel who man our state institutions. That is why some thinkers stress upon the need of concentration on development of ethical values among the masses first than any thing else.
Strange things happen in this country which reveal how much short we are in ethical values. Those persons who confess their involvement in corruption of crores of rupees get away with their crime lightly by depositing some portion of looted amount in government treasury under the notorious plea bargain section of NABs law whereas they should have been hanged from the lamp post in the city centres.
Politicians change their loyalties by jumping on the bandwagon of the ruling party and don’t feel ashamed by leaving their old political parties. What else can one say about the joining of Nawaz League by an old politician of Karak.
