WNAM REPORT: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov met with the Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Nobumitsu Hayashi.
The current state and prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed at the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank. Special attention was paid to projects implemented with JBIC’s participation, as well as to issues related to their financing.
Infrastructure projects implemented through public-private partnerships, including initiatives in healthcare, energy, and renewable energy development, as well as the modernization of transport and logistics infrastructure, were considered.
The parties exchanged views on attracting Japanese companies to implement projects and on their financing.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop cooperation, scale up, and improve the effectiveness of joint projects.
