WNAM MONITORING: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an expanded Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday, during which he appointed a new deputy prime minister and minister of economy, as reported by official media Turkmenistan.
The president relieved Mahrijemal Mammedova of her duties as deputy prime minister for culture and media and appointed Bahar Seyidova to the position.
In accordance with the president’s decree, Mammetguly Astanagulov was appointed as the new minister of finance and economy of Turkmenistan. Additionally, Astanagulov became the national coordinator for the European Union’s international technical assistance and the World Bank’s representative for Turkmenistan, replacing Serdar Jorayev in these roles.
During the meeting, the president also relieved Soltanmyrat Soltanmyradov from his position as governor of Ahal Velayat and appointed Toyguly Nurmyradov as his successor.
The government meeting also reviewed the economic sector’s performance for 2024, heard reports from deputy prime ministers and ministry heads, and discussed key socio-economic development goals and personnel matters.
