Lucky are the people of that political constituency in this country whose MPAs and MNAs are men of impeccable financial integrity, alive to their day to day problems and needs and easily accessible to them physically.
Saifullah family of the southern district Lakki of KPK is blessed with three brothers in the form of Anwar Saifullah Khan, Salim Saifullah Khan and Humayun Saifullah Khan who qualify for this title.
Their mother, late Begum Kulsoom Saifullah Khan who herself was a great political leader of her time, was instrumental in molding and shaping their character. They have been in public service for years now as ministers, senators and in local government to boot and their public service record has been unblemished. Their greatness can be gauged from the fact that they don’t hanker after the head of political parties to give their party tickets to them for contesting elections ; on the contrary it is the wish of head of every political party that they should contest polls on its ticket as they are unbeatable in their respective political constituency at the hustings due to their popularity among the masses on account of their excellent political track record.
Our tragedy is that men of such stature are a rare commodity seldom found in our political system. Among these three brothers had the powers that be appointed Anwar Saifullah Khan governor KPK a noticeable change would occurred in the law and order of FATA as well as in its adjoining districts. He had been once tipped for that job in the not too distant past but petty political expediency of the then president came into the way of his appointment thus to the detriment of tribal belt. Anwar Saifullah Khan has a lot of experience to his credit as a civil servant too having served as district magistrate also in KPK.
Let us hope saner hi counsel prevails in the powers that be and he may be given gubernatorial office in KPK in the days to come.
