WNAM REPORT: The 18th International Seminar on Simplification of Operations to Expand Opportunities in Trade, Transport and Information Exchange was held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
As reported, the seminar was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia.
Over the course of two days, the participants discussed the exchange of information on cargo transportation within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and further to Turkey and European countries.
It was emphasized that the exchange of information should comply with the standards of the UN Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business. The Centre is a subsidiary intergovernmental body of the UNECE and acts as a focal point for trade facilitation recommendations and electronic business standards covering both business and government business processes.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the agencies “Sea and River Routes of Turkmenistan”, “Turkmen Railways”, “Turkmenavtotransport”, “Turkmen Communications”, “Air Routes of Turkmenistan”, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, as well as relevant departments of the countries participating in the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia, the source notes.
