If immediate brakes weren’t applied to burgeoning grown and growing population of our country all the money being spent in various sectors of life at the moment will go down the drain as it would fall short of needs of increased population and would not be sufficient to feed new mouths and bellies. A bold initiative like the one under taken by Mao TSE Tung and his comrades back in 1950s in China is called for. As if we aren’t already  facing many serious issues the shortage of water is also staring us in the face.  The depletion of under ground water in the country must make alarm bell ringing. As a nation we seem to have no civic sense how to minimize consumption of water in our daily chores of life. There is a need to make all and sundry realise that,  but if we will not be parsimonious with the use of water scarcity  is going to be our fate before long.
