It is common knowledge that in this country some educational institutions, including even some professional colleges have been dishing out counterfeit degrees for quite sometime and minting money in the process. Small wonder there has been a sharp decline in the standard and quality of services rendered by persons associated with Medicare, Engineering and Law departments because if merit is sacrificed at the altar of pelf, and undeserving persons man public offices the common man suffers. The de-notification of a judge of superior court of this country is a case in point. Who were the officials who dished out fake law degree to him? Who were the persons whose duty it was to thoroughly examine the credentials of the affected judge before he was elevated to the superior court? It has to be seen who had erred and why? The erring persons have to be identified and then handed down exemplary punishment otherwise occurrence of many more such cases cannot be ruled out altogether in future too. They must be pinpointed and given their just deserts as this episode has brought a very bad name to our judiciary at large.
